Join us, be part of this selfless movement
- a movement to reinvent ourselves. Kindly
empathize with our fellow brethren, particularly and shattered
and skeletal community of deprived people. Let us join together
and plague it. Arise, Awake and
Act, since any procrastination
could be fraught with irreparable damages. |

It was a
dusty humble hamlet in one of the remotest regions of
the country with frequent droughts, a solitary makeshift
primary school & no dispensary at all. A frail, pale
woman in her early 20s was expecting and when the
appointed day came, they called the village daiees
(midwives) to help her with the delivery. It, however,
became a complicated case and the daiees exposed their
utter helplessness. She writhed in pain with unbearable
spasm piercing through her emaciated structure. A pain,
which would not let her live and not let her die either.
Tears flowed like streams on her bony face. The
villagers looked in utter desperation. Somebody had gone
to call a mobile dispensary some miles away. It would
still take a couple of hours. She battled for life lying
on the bed, her heartbeats racing against time.
Fortunately, the van arrived 30 minutes earlier. The
doctor made his way through the huddled crowd, to find
her motionless… dead. Her bloodstained clothes covered
by a sparkling white chadar. Her eyes dry, since there
were no more tears let to flow… .
After all, how many more women have to succumb to death,
before we reach out to them … in time? |

Rahat
Foundation Society is a non-governmental, non-political
& non-profit welfare trust. The trust is completely
dedicated to the social development and economic
empowerment of the society, particularly the poor, needy
and the impoverished sections. It seeks to become the
voice of the unsung, unclad and unwept man of the
country. It intends to make people the master of their
own destinies by extricating them from the spider web of
disease, destitution and despair.
Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny. The time
has come to redeem our pledge. Everyone dreams. But some
have vision. And a very few have fortitude to convert
their dream into reality. It is the point where we stand
to extend our helping hand with dedication, devotion,
sacrifice, trust and purity. We not only hope, but also
strongly believer that the tiny lamp that Rahat has lit,
shall light millions of lamps all around. Tiny droplets
of water coalesce to from mighty oceans. |
